My name is Babette van Houten, I am the mother of 3 children.
Up to only recently, I was a very active woman and have always
been slim and toned. After my first two pregnancies I was
quick to take up sports again but after the birth of my third
child I suffered with postnatal depression, and sports were
the last thing on my mind. And of course, it didn't take long
before I started gaining weight, not much, but all of it around
my waist and tummy.
Once I started to feel myself again, I wanted to lose the
extra kilos as I didn't like the way I looked. But however
much I tried, I just couldn't get rid of my spare tyres. Maybe
it was because I was that bit older, or because I hadn't been
very active for a while, but I just couldn't get back into
sports.
I gradually started to think about liposuction and went in
search of information. I soon discovered the Elyzea website
and contacted them for an appointment. The surgeon told me all
about liposuction, how the procedure is carried out and which
areas they can treat. He was very busy but he took the time
to answer all my questions at great length. Of course, I consulted
other specialists too, but I felt most at ease at Elyzea I
must however confess that the fact that treatment in Belgium
is far cheaper was a contributing factor.

| The
liposuction was performed in Brussels. The surgeon marked
up the areas where I wanted the fat removed and took several
photos. I was pleasantly sedated instead of generally anaesthetised
which gave me no problems at all. The sedation wore off almost
immediately and didn't cause days of after-effects.
As
soon as I came to, I was able to have a quick look at the
results before the swelling kicked in. I had to put on a tight
pantie-girdle and lie in a small recovery room. As soon as
I was awake enough to go home, and armed with painkillers,
I left to go home two litres lighter.
The
first few days were quite tiring - your tummy muscles are
very sore and it's not easy to get in and out of your chair
or bed. But only two days later I had a singing lesson, which
went rather well. You can't really say there's any pain, only
some discomfort.
For
the first 4 weeks I wore the pantie-girdle both day and night
- this is to ensure that the skin properly re-attaches itself
to the underlying flesh. I was actually allowed to go without
the pantie-girdle during the night after only 3 weeks, but
I wanted to be safe rather than sorry... And you can see the
results in the photos. I can only say that I am ecstatic that
I had it done - and the Elyzea surgeons really know how to
make you happy with such beautiful results !!
