I had lacked confidence for a long time as a result of my weight. I'd tried every diet you can imagine and each time they ended in disappointment. I had got to the stage where I was so big that I hid under baggy sweaters and wore baggy tracksuit bottoms. I remember how upset I was at my brother's wedding when I was the bridesmaid and I couldn't even wear a fashionable dress. It had to be something that hid me.

I didn't have the confidence to wear anything else. I had considered liposuction (liposculpture) before but the thought of the high cost had always put me off. I heard about the Elysea Clinic through a newspaper article where I read that it cost about half the price to have a procedure done abroad. I rang up and arranged a consultation in London . Whilst in the waiting room, I met two other ladies who had been to the Clinic and had surgery. One of them showed me how loose her trousers were since the procedure which was only a few months ago. I couldn't believe it. She looked like she'd dropped at least 2 sizes. They made me feel much less nervous. The doctor I saw was Dr. Caroni. I was worried that he would be judgemental but he was so friendly and reassuring and put me at my ease. I decided to go for it and booked an appointment in Brussels for 6 weeks later.
I booked a Eurostar that night and got an advanced purchase deal for only £59 return. The procedure was fine - I didn't feel anything at all and afterwards I went to the recovery room where I was well looked after by a lovely nurse called Anne Marie. The receptionist, Stephanie, was also really nice and everyone spoke really good English. After the procedure, I did feel groggy for 24 hours or so and then uncomfortable and a bit swollen for a week. I also had some bruising but it was gone in three weeks.
After a month people started to notice and with sensible eating, my figure started to change completely. I have absolutely no hesitation in saying that having surgery at the Elyzea Clinic has completely changed my life. I can now wear jeans, buy tops that I actually want to wear and face the world feeling more confident again. For the first time in 10 years I wore a bikini on holiday this year.
