Liposculpture (the latest liposuction technique) is a cosmetic procedure to permanently remove unwanted areas of fat that have not responded to diet or exercise. Liposculpture is the most commonly performed procedure in cosmetic surgery (65% of all procedures by ELYZEA Cosmetic Surgery).
The procedure starts with the local injection of an anaesthetic fluid and saline solution containing a vasoconstrictor. The three liquids ensure that the procedure is pain-free and without blood loss. The surgeon then makes tiny incisions (3-4 mm) in the skin through which a narrow tube or cannula is inserted that is connected to a vacuum pump. Using a to-and-fro motion, the fat is then evenly and precisely suctioned out.
This technique is called Vibrasound Liposculpture. Vibrasound loosens and liquefies the fat using high frequency sound vibration to enable it to be drawn off easily without damaging the surrounding tissue. Another important advantage is that more fat can be removed from the same area (with Liposuction only a maximum amount of fat can be removed because of bleeding). This technique is certified to comply with the highest European safety standards, IS09001 and EN46001 and delivers the best results, which is why it has become the method of choice at ELYZEA cosmetic surgery.
After surgery, you will have to wear a compression garment for three weeks (day and night for the first week and only during the day thereafter). You will be able to return home a few hours after surgery.

WILL THE FAT COME BACK ?
No. Never. The fat cells where fat can develop have been removed. As your body stops producing fat cells straight after puberty, the fat cells that are removed during liposculpture, cannot be replaced. No further fat can be deposited in the treated part of the body. The result is therefore permanent.
WILL THERE BE ANY SCARRING ?
The scars are barely 3-5mm wide and found only in the natural folds of the skin (under the buttocks, in the groin, ..). They gradually fade away with time.
HOW LONG DOES THE SURGERY TAKE ?
It takes an average of 2 hours. The length of surgery depends on the amount of fat to be removed and the number of areas treated.
IS THE SURGERY PAINFUL ?
No, the procedure is pain free. After surgery, you may experience some bruising and stiffness – this varies greatly from person to person. At the very worst, it could feel like muscle pain but this will disappear after a few days.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO SEE THE RESULTS ?
You will see results straight after surgery and be able to admire your new body shape. This is the patient’s ‘magic moment’. Swelling then begins and some bruising may show – this is all part of the normal healing process and will disappear within about 14 days.
One month after surgery, you’ll see 80% of the final results that you’ll achieve 2 to 3 months thereafter. You will be extremely happy with your new body shape, just the one you’ve always dreamed of. And you will be able to continue enjoying your new shape, providing you exercise regularly and eat healthily.
IS LIPOSUCTION EFFECTIVE AGAINST CELLULITE ?
If the cellulite is local and recent, liposculpture can treat it very effectively. However, when cellulite is widespread and superficial (commonly known as ‘orange peel’ skin), liposculpture will improve the outward appearance of the skin, but without eliminating any underlying cellulite. The solution in this case is without doubt Cellulotherapy (a rolling pressure massage using two rollers and ultrasound). This method yields excellent results as regards the cellulite itself and in the firming of the skin.
IS LIPOSCULPTURE AN ALTERNATIVE TO DIETING ?
Liposculpture does not replace a diet and will not help you lose much weight if it is not followed by a diet. However, experience demonstrates that patients who undergo liposculpture prior to following a diet (MAXI LIPOSCULPTURE) slim down quicker and faster, whilst avoiding the yo-yo effect.
IS LIPOSCULPTURE EFFECTIVE FOR MEN ?
Yes, certainly. Men's needs are more specific: they focus on the abdomen, stomach and hips (love handles).
Despite hours of abdominal exercises and fitness training, excess fat on the abdomen or hips never fully disappears. With Liposculpture, however, all unwanted fat in these three areas of the body will disappear forever in just one single session.
Other parts of the body men often have treated :

OVERWEIGHT PATIENT
MAXI LIPOSCULPTURE is an appropriate method for overweight patients, whereby more fat is removed compared to the standard liposculpture procedure. This should be followed by a protein diet.
The criterion for eligibility is the following: Patients who have a BMI (Body Mass Index) between 24 and 30.
In order to calculate one’s BMI, the formula is the following:
For example, an adult woman who is 1,70 metres (i.e. 5ft 7in) and weights between 74kg (11st 9lb) and 87kg (13st 10lb) would be an ideal indication for the MAXI LIPOSCULPTURE and protein diet.
