My name is Zahia and I would like to tell you my story.
                   

For me, life was always about self-destruction. It was about kilos, many kilos that handicapped my everyday life. To go up a flight of stairs, for example, was like doing the 400 metres hurdles.
And on top of that, I had constant high blood pressure and too much cholesterol.

For many years I tried out each and every diet. I took lots of different medication prescribed by unscrupulous doctors. Each time I lost a little weight but always ended up by putting a little bit more back on.
Psychologically, I was at the end of my tether. I felt so bad about myself, I was so unhappy, ….

Thanks to a friend, I started to get interested in GASTRIC BANDING.

Many people I know had already had the operation and had miraculously lost tens of kilos in just one year. Their lives had completely changed. In any case, it was the only escape route that I had left.

My first appointment with the surgeon at ELYZEA clinic was encouraging.
I knew that the surgeon was one of the leading European specialists in weight loss surgery and that he had a remarkable reputation.

I had my operation in Belgium on the 9th of May, 2003. I stayed one night in hospital but
frankly I felt so well after the operation that I could have gone home the same day.

Five days after the operation, I had lost 1 stone.

My dream was going to come true. To become slim and sexy! I was going to say goodbye to my obese ‘me’ and become a different person.
The result today, 14 months after my Lapband procedure, is a loss of 10 stone (9 dress sizes) !!

During all this time, I didn’t have to follow a diet, I ate everything but only in small quantities.I have never felt hungry. I have never felt so well. And all this had absolutely nothing to do
with dieting!

I lost weight steadily without any gaining along the way. It was miraculous!

The aftercare I received from the surgeon and the whole team at ELYZEA clinic was truly tremendous.
What struck me the most was how competent everyone was. For the whole
time, I felt supported and surrounded by the ELYZEA team.
They were all marvellous in helping me to achieve my dream.

And mentally, everything is so much better. I’m in such good spirits and have so many plans.
I have become a sexy woman, I can dress how I want and I’m getting compliments left, right and centre!

Now I can let myself get chatted up by men again. If only they knew that I weighed 22 stone !
It might seem silly to you but it’s so nice to be able to cross your legs again, to see your feet and not your belly when you look down. Every day I find a new reason to be happy about my weight loss.

I don’t recommend slimming at any cost. Just the fact of being in harmony with oneself is far more important than slimming at any cost ….

At the moment, I am in contact with dozens of men and women who have had the gastric banding procedure and who are just as enthusiastic as I am …
